This is my second week of training in Thailand.
So it is true that for the first three to four weeks, you need to build stamina and you need to get used to conditions in Thailand. But I think I'm doing well.
The last couple of days have been a bit crazy now the wet season is starting in Thailand. On one hand, it's good because it is not so hot, but on the other hand, it is raining often and really heavily. After the rain, you can see thousands of insect and flies in the air.
But actually, I wanted to say somehting about my training and my trainers. For the past few days, Kai has been teaching me some elbow techniques that you can use in a real fight. These techniques are not much different, but I need to get used to the Thai style of fighting. For example, he told me that when we fight, we need to look big and strong. So, whenever you do a kick or punch, you have to punch with power. The speed is important, but from what I can see, power is the goal.
As I said before, we usually train from Monday until Saturday, twice a day, so there are 12 training sessions all together during a week. But suddenly, the trainers and all the guys decided that we needed go out and have some social time together. So we went to Khao San Road. It's the main road with bargain hotels, pubs and bars. Here on Khao San Road, you can meet people from all of the world, Europeans, Americans, Thais - people from everywere. It was Tuesday night when we went out and we got back to the camp at 6am, so most of us didn't train on Wednesday!
What is really good in Sor Vorapin gym, is the fact that after the training, you can talk with your trainers, have a good time and for sure, after some time, you will have lots of friends.
I would say that here, we live like a family.
